Human rights in school curriculum
WebA child’s right to education entails the right to learn. Yet, for too many children across the globe, schooling does not lead to learning. Over 600 million children and adolescents worldwide are unable to attain minimum proficiency levels in reading and mathematics, even though two thirds of them are in school. WebAnd because these programmes are based on human rights principles, they advance gender equality and the rights and empowerment of young people. UNFPA works with governments to implement comprehensive sexuality education, both in schools and outside of schools through community-based training and outreach.
