The basis design is quite similar to our GMT400 trucks, but you can see a number of ways that GM reinforced the frame structure and near-completely boxed-in the frame transition point, as well as the front framerail section and above the middle of the spring perches. WebThe GMT800 is the best generation of GM trucks. As much as I love the GMT400s for their sheer styling, I think I have to rank the GMT800s a little higher. Better engines, higher capacities, bigger cabs with better interiors, Quadrasteer. IME my GMT-400 is superior to my father’s GMT-800 in all ways except 1: the 5.3 is the best engine ever made.
